My Brand Of The Week of 8.31.09 goes out to Steve Madden, makers of quality shoes at affordable prices.
I love their modern styles and subtle avant-garde influences. What really stands out to me about Steve Madden, and quite frankly is very impressive, is how comfortable — VERY comfortable — their shoes are. I think I have owned about 10 pairs of Steve Maddens so far, and even at this moment, am on their site looking for cool shoes to get. With shoes that makes your feet comfy, it gives me the perfect impression that their customer loyalty is based on the customer’s needs, without sacrificing style and quality.
That’s right, folks. It’s about time that this ugly invention of a shoe is out the door for good. According to Buzzfeed.com, the company lost $180+ million last year and had to undergo massive layoffs due to the recession. Not that I approve of people losing their jobs, but am very thankful for this piece of crap clothing to be done and over with!! Fashion and comfort can be merged together successfully (think Kenneth Cole, Cole Haan, et. al.), and it should be merged together on a consistent basis. But crocs? Again, what a load of.
Haha, yeah… so my latest shopittome.com salemail email is full of shoes – I mean racks full of them. Thanks to Onlineshoes.com and Piperlime.com, I have a plethora of shoes to choose from. And yes, I said plethora. Reminds me of that bit on The Three Amigos…
So check this out. I’ll share what shoes to wear on different styles and outfits, in different settings, based on the salemail email.
Adidas Gazelle in Black, paired with dark or semi-dark jeans (baggy or bootcut, depends on preferences, situations, and where you’re going that night), light-colored hoodie or funky stripe/pattern button down, Von Dutch trucker hat (HA!) and Reaction watch. Adidas Gazelle shoes are $54.99 at onlineshoes.com
Adidas O-Type Driving with dark denim (either non-destroyed, or semi-destroyed), and with added patterns to suit your style. Pair with a funky tee from Armani and glasses from Steve Madden and your set for a very casual look. $69.99 at onlineshoes.com
Guess Donte with either white or khaki linen pants, or even (take a guess) a dark denim jeans with a solid (or striped, depending on your flavor) pique polo from Ralph Lauren, Nautica, or Express for a more comfortable, stylish, and fashionable look that says something nice about you and not calling you a slob. Guess footwear from piperlime.com at $54.97
Sketchers Footloose paired with denim jeans (either dark, distressed, or combinations), mixed with a white button down shirt with light horizontal or cross-pattern shirt, folded sleeves, and a nice dragon buckle belt from Buckle. Piperlime presents Sketchers Footloose shoes for $51.99.
Express.com is having a $15 sale for guys and girls, starting Friday and ending on Sunday (but it’s mostly tees for guys). They still have the Box Sale going on as well, with an additional 40% off on top of the sale price. As a reminder, their sizes and colors are very limited!
Also, Prada (yes Prada) has a great shoe on sale right now on Bluefly.com. I’ve seen something similar in LA and have tried them on, and they’re quite fantastic, IMHO. While it is a whopping $450, it is 80% off the retail price (down from $2315!!!). That must be one lovely shoe!!
